Timothy Cabello — Digital Strategy Consultant
Strategic Pause

Investing in depth over breadth, building expertise that matters for the next decade of technology consulting.

After a decade of independent practice helping organizations navigate technology strategy and digital modernization, I have made the deliberate choice to pursue dual graduate degrees at Boston University and Purdue University.

This isn’t a career pivot; it’s a strategic investment in strengthening systems, analytics, and governance expertise that supports long-term technology and decision-making work. My goal is to bridge the gap between emerging innovation, enterprise-grade security, and data-informed decision-making. The work resumes with a stronger foundation.

Alongside this academic focus, I continue to build and apply practical expertise in data analysis, systems understanding, and decision support — skills that translate directly into business intelligence and analyst roles.

Technology strategy isn't about deploying the latest tools, it's about understanding which capabilities create sustainable competitive advantage and which are expensive distractions.
01

The Academic Investment

These degrees aren't ornamental credentials; they're a focused response to gaps I've identified after years of client work. Cybersecurity has evolved from a specialized concern to a fundamental dimension of every technology decision. Business-technology strategy requires frameworks that most consultants learn haphazardly through trial and error.

Boston University
MS in Computer Information Systems

Developing advanced capabilities in security architecture, threat modeling, and risk-informed system design. Every technology decision is now a security decision; this program provides the technical depth to navigate that reality with confidence.

Purdue University
Master of Business & Technology
AI Innovation Concentration

Deepening strategic frameworks for technology-driven transformation with specialized focus on AI systems, machine learning applications, and data-driven decision making. Moving beyond ad-hoc consulting approaches to systematic methods for assessing AI investments, managing organizational change, and building sustainable competitive advantage through intelligent automation.
